Clarence “Al” Hamman, 79, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:54 a.m. Oct. 7, 2011, in his residence. He was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Kosciusko County, to Clarence F. and Ruth Garrison Hamman. On June 11, 1982, in Warsaw, he married Deloris “Jean” Geyer, who survives. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 1973. He worked for United Telephone Company for 17 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49 in Warsaw. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw. Also surviving are a daughter, Martha Conley, Nappanee; a stepson, Steven (and spouse Jeannie) Coy, Warsaw; two stepdaughters, Susan Niles and Sally (and spouse David) Gilbert, all of Columbia City; a sister, Margaret (and spouse Rex) Yazel, Mentone; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and Toby, his faithful furry friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and five sisters. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by the American Legion Post 49, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126 and the ARNG.
