Clara June Hendrickson, 72, of Claypool, went to be with the Lord and her soul mate at 8:15 p.m. July 16, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born April 26, 1937, in Tullahoma, Tenn., to John Edward Sr. and Lacy Etstelle Sides Bryant. On July 1, 1957, in Columbia City, she married the love of her life, James Robert Hendrickson Sr., who died June 30, 2009.
A lifetime area resident, she worked at Bluebell Jean Factory then Jomac Glove, where she retired. She was a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw. She loved God, her husband, family and friends, cooking for everyone, reading and growing beautiful flowers and shopping.
Surviving are six children: Carolyn Sue (and spouse Rex Sr.) Wert, Milford; James Robert Jr. (and spouse Cathy) Hendrickson and Franklin J. (and spouse Elaine) Hendrickson, all of Fort Wayne; Richard Ray (and spouse Angie) Hendrickson Sr. and Jesse James (and spouse Lori) Hendrickson, all of Claypool; and Robin Estelle (and spouse Tommy) Croy, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a brother, John Edward Jones Jr., Elkhart; three sisters: Jacqueline Elaine (and spouse Les) Perry, Elkhart; Marge Ann (and spouse John) Stafaniak, Jefferson City, Tenn.; and Leslie Lynn Bryant (and partner Kathy) Petersburg, Va.; Mary Evelyn Drabenstott, Christine (and spouse Lannie) Hoskins and Beverly Hendrickson; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Jones Sr., and his wife, Dorothy, and Lacy Estelle Bryant, and her husband, Les; two sisters, Wilma Jeane Thompson and Joyce Slaven; and a granddaughter, Amber Nicole Hendrickson.
Services were today at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw, with the Rev. Glen Hughes officiating. Burial was in Gracland Cemetery, Claypool.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
