SYRACUSE – Clara E. “Katie” Auer, 94, Syracuse, passed away Oct. 10, 2015, at Millers Merry Manor. She was born June 26, 1921, in Syracuse, to Lawrence and Wilma Hammon Held. On April 5, 1941, she married Ted Auer, who preceded her in death in 2011. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Syracuse. Surviving are one son, John (and spouse Lavera) Auer, Nappanee; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one son, Tommy, and two sisters. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, with Pastor Harlan Steffen officiating.
