On Friday at 3 p.m., come to the Syracuse Library’s Movie Matinee for a showing of a Gettysburg film, and join them the next day for the final Civil War program of the summer.
Mathew Brady is often called the father of photojournalism and is most known for his famous photographs of battlefield carnage during the American Civil War, photographs which have become visual documentation of the war.
Joan Flinspach, former president and CEO of The Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne, presents the history of these photographs and the man who took them. A PowerPoint presentation of these photos will complement the presentation and allow audience members a detailed look at what makes this collection of photographs so special.
This event takes place Saturday at 2 p.m. in the lower level of the Syracuse Library. Any questions, call 574-457-3022.
