Terms for elected officials in Warsaw and most of the county's town clerks and town council members end in 2003.
The exceptions are Districts 1 and 2 in Syracuse, which were decided last year.
Warsaw, Winona Lake and Syracuse will hold primary elections. If there are no contested races, they can decide not to hold a general election.
Candidates may file for offices at the Kosciusko County clerk's office Jan. 22 through Feb. 21. In Warsaw, positions for mayor, clerk-treasurer, council representatives in districts 1 through 5 and the two at-large seats are available. In Winona Lake, the clerk-treasurer's office and council districts 1 through 5 are up for election this year. Syracuse's clerk-treasurer and council districts 3 through 5 terms end this year.
Claypool, Etna Green, Mentone, Milford, North Webster, Pierceton, Sidney and Silver Lake have three council seats each and clerk-treasurer positions, which end this year.
Town candidates can file through Aug. 1 for the general election process.
Candidacy requirements are on file at the county clerk's office.
