ORDINANCE  NUMBER 2023-08-01

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 74 OF THE WARSAW  CITY CODE

    WHEREAS, Indiana Code 9-21-1 authorizes local authorities to regulate traffic by means of a traffic control device; and,

    WHEREAS, the Warsaw  Traffic Safety Commission  has recommended  to the Common Council of the City of Warsaw certain actions that will prevent traffic accidents on city streets;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON  COUNCIL of the

City of Warsaw, Indiana, that Chapter 74, Traffic and Vehicles, Article III, Operation of Vehicles Generally, of the Warsaw City Code be amended to read as follows:

CHAPTER 74

TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES ARTICLE III

OPERATION OF VEHICLES GENERALLY

    Section 74-129 Two-Way  Stops

    Items 5, 7, 38, 43, 56, 85, 124, 127, 129, 135, 139, shall be removed/from the ordinance

    (5) At the northwest and southeast comers of the intersection  of Tamarack Street and Center Street. (remove item 5)

    (7) At the northwest and southeast corners of the intersection  of Bronson Street and Center Street. (remove item 7)

    (38) At the southeast and northwest corners of the intersection  of Park Avenue and East Main Street. (remove item 38)

(43) At the northwest and southeast  corners of the intersection  of Park Avenue and Fort Wayne Street. (remove item 43)

    (56) At the southwest and northeast comers of the intersection  of Sheridan Street and Maple Avenue. (remove  item 56)

    (85) At the northwest and southeast comers of the intersection  of Lindberg Street and Jefferson Street. (remove  item 85)

    (124) At the southeast corner of the intersection of Fort Wayne Street and Indiana Street. (remove item 124)

    (127)   At the nmihwest corner of the intersection of East Fort Wayne and McMnley Streets. (remove item 127)

    (129)   At the southeast corner of the intersection of East Fort Wayne and Roosevelt Streets. (remove item 129)

    (135) At the Northeast and Southwest corners of the intersection of County Road 175 East and County Road 75 North. (remove item 135)

    (139) At the northeast and southwest corners of the intersection of Husky Trail and Mariners Drive. (remove item 139)

    Items 117, 123, 126, 128 shall be amended to read as follows:

    (117) At the northeast and southwest corners of the intersection of Eastlake Drive and Jefferson Street.

    (123) At the northwest corner and southeast corner of the intersection of Fort Wayne Street and Indiana Street. (includes vacated item 124)

    (126) At the northwest corner and southeast corner of the intersection of East Fort Wayne and McKinley Streets. (includes vacated item 127)

    (128) At the northwest and southeast corner of the intersection of East Fort Wayne and Roosevelt Streets. (includes vacated item 129)

Section 74-130 Three-Way Stops

Item 6 shall be removed from the ordinance

    (6) On the southeast, southwest and northwest corners of the intersection of East Main Street and Buffalo Street. (remove item 6)

Section 74-131 All Way Stops

    Item I8 shall be removed jimn the ordinance.

    (18) On all comers of the intersection of East Main Street and Buffalo Street. (remove item 18)

    Item 19 shall be added to the ordinance.

    (19) On all comers  of the intersection of North Cook Street and East Clark Street. (add new item 19)

    This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of passage. Any parts of the Warsaw Traffic Control Ordinance which are in conflict with this ordinance are hereby suspended by this ordinance.

    THEREFORE; be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Warsaw, Indiana, with 7 ayes, and 0 nays, and   0 abstentions, that this be Adopted and Resolved this 21st day of August, 2023.
