Editor, Times-Union: First, I like to say that the city does so much for so many people, and I’m grateful for that.
The city requires us to have a lid on our trash cans, yet I see several people with no lids. A couple of times my lid has come off and have received a note saying I need a lid trash. But, in the housing division where I live, there are several elderly people.
When the trash people remove the lids they flip them off the top and wherever they land that’s where they stay. So, if there’s several inches of snow on the ground, the elderly have to try to trudge through the snow to get there lids.
On another note, they have been putting gravel down on my street for the last two weeks. What’s the point? Are they trying to make the road into a dirt road? Then when the snow fell last weekend, they plowed the snow and now I have gravel on my drive way, flower beds and yard.
Who is responsible for this, or am I to try to clean this mess up myself and risk putting rocks through the windows when I mow in the spring?
