A contractor still has not been selected to complete work on installing a right-turn lane into Da-Lite Screen Co.
Da-Lite Screen is at 3100 N. Detroit St., (Ind. 15N) Warsaw.
The Warsaw Board of Works previously discussed project bids at its Oct. 5 meeting where it received a bid from Phend & Brown Inc., Milford, for $179,993.09.The board also received a bid from Niblock, Columbia City, but the sealed bid was not opened because it did not meet the time submission deadline and the company did not attend a mandatory pre-construction meeting.
Mayor Ernie Wiggins said Friday the engineering estimate Herceg and Associates provided for the project was $150,000 and Phend & Brown's bid was too high.
Wiggins said he and Warsaw Street Superintendent Lacy Francis met with Herceg & Associates to discuss the project, but haven't heard back from Phend & Brown Inc. regarding their bids.
Wiggins said if they don't hear from Phend & Brown Inc. next week the project may need to be rebid.
