Warsaw City Council approved transferring funds for design work for the third floor of the new city hall Monday night.
The council approved an ordinance to transfer $20,000 from capital outlays to professional services. Councilman Jeff Grose made the motion seconded by councilman Charlie Smith.
The transfer will allow Scearce Rudisel Architects to do design work on the third floor of the city hall where OrthoWorx will located its offices.
The council approved continuing a 10-year tax abatement on real property for Wildman Uniform at 800 S. Buffalo St. They have expanded their facility by 12,000 square feet and spent $233,398 on personal property improvements, and created an additional 28 jobs since 2012.
The council reviewed an ordinance for the issuance and sale of a sewage bond. They will hold a hearing on the bond at the July 1 meeting.
Also during the meeting, Theresa Sailor, wastewater treatment stormwater coordinator, provided a presentation on the city’s stormwater program.
Diane Quance, city council president, in Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer’s absense, informed the council a city budget workshop will be July 29 at 4 p.m. at city hall.
Budget meetings have been set for August 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Smith informed the council he had received a letter from a concerned Fairlane Drive resident regarding fireworks going off at all hours.
The council requested the city attorney’s office look into what the city ordinance says for firework rules.
