ROCHESTER - Christopher Allan "Skip" Shambarger, 38, of 13328 N. CR 700E, Roann, died May 18, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 26, 1969, in Fulton County, Ga., to Charles K. and Carol Crousore Shambarger. On Feb. 12, 1999, in Peru, he married Carmen Wise, who survives.

He lived in the Rochester and Akron communities since he was 5-years-old. He was a 1988 North Miami High School graduate. He worked in construction as a supervisor in the Chicago area and was a member of International Laborers' Union of North America. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving in Operation Just Cause in Panama for three years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1343, Rochester.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jesilyn R. Shambarger, at home; a son, Christian S. Shambarger, at home; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Marvin Bahney, Akron; five sisters: Kelly (and spouse Gary) Lebo, Middletown, Ohio; Lela (and spouse Gordon) Nash, Warsaw; Lory (and spouse Barry) Newhouse, Fort Wayne; Jill (and spouse Kevin) Pugh, Rochester; and Jana (and spouse Mike) Green, North Carolina; four brothers: Chuck L. (and spouse Robin) Shambarger, Jackson, N.J.; Randy L. (and spouse Vita) Shambarger and Tye Bahney, both of Rochester; and Martin Bahney, Warsaw; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents; his father in 2004; and his stepmother, Marjorie Shambarger in 2005; and his best friend and cousin, Rodney Shambarger in 2005.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with the Rev. Junior Bose officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with military rites.
