More than 67 children from Kosciusko County participated in the Fraternal Order of Police Christmas with a Cop program Saturday at the Warsaw Walmart.
Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 149 members met with families Saturday at the local Walmart to assist in providing clothing and presents for more than 67 children.
Families were divided among various officers from throughout Kosciusko County and allowed to purchase children’s clothing as well as presents for this holiday season.
Warsaw Walmart, along with Pak-A-Sack/Shell Food Marts at both Warsaw locations on Center Street and U.S. 30, were instrumental in assisting the FOP’s funding of this event.
FOP President Chris McKeand said, “If not for Walmart, Pak-A-Sack/Shell, and our community’s donations and support, we would not have been able to assist these families. The generosity of local citizens allowed us to increase the total amount of children to 67 compared to 30 from last year.”
Departments present included: Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Mentone Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Syracuse Police Department and Milford Police Department.
