The Warsaw Community High School Graduation Coaching program collected unused Christmas and holiday cards.
The goal was to get 2,000 cards so that every WCHS student could send a note of appreciation to a current servicemen. Hoosiers Helping Heroes is sending out care packages to soldiers, and the cards will go with those packages.
According to graduation coach Steve Henn, "Our kids are really into this project and it’s been really cool to see at-risk kids dedicate themselves to a service learning project and to see community businesses and organizations donate to the cause."
Kosciusko Community Hospital donated 250 cards, Maple Leaf Farms donated 200, Walmart donated a $50 gift card and Hallmark donated 1,000 cards.
