Christine Mason Flint

SANTA FE, N.M. – Christine Mason Flint, formerly of Etna Green, died Sept. 24, 2016.
She was born in Plymouth to Ralph and Avis Iden Mason on April 1, 1932 – April Fool’s Day.
The family lived in Etna Green, where she graduated from Etna High School. She then attended and graduated from Indiana University. She taught briefly at Frankfort High School before moving to Albuquerque, where she taught at Albuquerque High School. There is where she met and married F. Harlan Flint.
His career took them to Santa Fe, Anchorage, San Francisco, Cleveland and Salt Lake City before they returned to Santa Fe.
She had a great interest in politics and served on the state board of League of Women Voters in Alaska and Ohio. She had strong opinions on many things and was happy to share them with all.
In her last years she had to fight the destructive ravages of Alzheimer’s disease and she gave it her very best,  never giving in until the very end.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Christine Elizabeth “Tina” (and spouse Archie) Smith, Minneapolis; Harlan Myles (and spouse Nicole) Flint, Santa Fe; and Mason Iden (and ?spouse Suzy) Flint, Lake Sammich, Wash.; a sister, Charlotte Slabaugh, Etna Green; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; three brothers: Lewis, Seth and Charles Mason; and two sisters, Anna Lindsey and Roena Williams.
A celebration of Chris’ life will be announced later.
