SYRACUSE - Christine "Chris" Heedick, 85, of Syracuse, died at 2:35 p.m. Oct, 16, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born April 20, 1924, in Higginson, Ark., to Irvin Clark and Ollie Evans Presley. She married John Heedick, who preceded her in death.
She attended public schools in Arkansas. She lived most of her life in Arkansas and California before moving to Syracuse in 2005 from Modesto, Calif. She retired at 73 from Beverly Enterprises Nursing Home, Modesto, after 30 years as a nurse's assistant. She attended Bible Baptist Church, Ligonier, where she was active in the women's group. She formerly attended the Assembly of God in Modesto.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (and spouse Ron) Strieby, Syracuse; three sons, Bruce Irvin and Rick Heedick, both of Lee Summit, Mo., and David (and spouse Carolyn) Heedick, Southington, Conn.; two sisters, Louise House, Modesto, and Mary Ann Parks, Springfield, Ill.; and a brother, Dale (and spouse Fern) Presley, of Kansas City, Ark. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Services were at 2 p.m. today at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Rev. Harold Heaton officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, North Webster.
