Christian Righteousness

Editor, Times-Union:

The Day of Silence has been observed for the last 12 years because of people pointing fingers, physically hurting and throwing out slanderous remarks toward any individual that is different from what we call normal. For example: Mrs. Miller, you made a statement in your letter "As for getting off our so-called soapbox, let the homos get off theirs." Is this what you teach your grandchildren and then turn around and quote Bible scriptures to them?

If you area a true Christian, as you say you are, and as you said "as Christian we have the right to judge right and wrong." You are wrong. For you to act out with such malice toward an individual because of their opinion is not the way a professed Christian should be.

As Christians, we should try to renew someone's faith, not turn them away. As human beings we all have the right to judge right and wrong, you don't have to be a Christian.

Mrs. Miller, this high school teenager knows that homosexual practices are an abomination of God. We did not need to tell her repeatedly. However, from one Christian to another, we need to pray for the individuals that practice homosexuality and for all individuals that practice any perverseness, acts of hatred, alcoholism, drug addiction or do we shove them in a closet or corner? I will be praying for you.
