What formerly was known as the Warsaw Community Choir now is the Lakeland Chorale.
This change reflects the fact that many of the members reside outside the city of Warsaw. Also, the organization wants to grow and become more identifiable with Lakeland Youth Chorale and other future groups.
Under the direction of Jerry and Renee Polman, the Lakeland Chorale meets Tuesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. at Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw.
In preparation for their first concert of the season, the Lakeland Chorale has been working on musical selections that focus on scriptural text. Titled "The Word," this 2:30 p.m. performance will be Saturday at Winona Lake Free Methodist Church.
Also, Lakeland Chorale members will join the Grace Symphonic Chorus and Symphony of the Lakes in presenting Hande's "Messiah." This concert features a sing-along experience for the audience as well. The concert is Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Rodeheaver Auditorium, Winona Lake.
