WINONA LAKE -ÊThe importance of choices and the healing power of forgiveness will be the topic of discussion at a teen/parent forum Thursday in Winona Lake.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Brandon Robinson, Pam Hiers and Monica Hatfield will speak about making good decisions at Rodeheaver Auditorium.
In 1998, Robinson was involved in an accident at the intersection of Zimmer and Crystal Lake roads that killed three people and injured two others. He was found guilty of drunk driving and sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Robinson is expected to give an account of his actions that led to the accident, as well as his arrest and conviction.
Hatfield, who was an infant at the time of the 1998 crash, was one of the injured parties in the accident. Hiers is the mother of Heather Florey, one of the people killed in the 1998 crash.
Robinson has been speaking at similar forums since May 2005. He also speaks to school and civic groups and currently is an inmate at the Hamilton County Community Corrections Facility.
The forum is sponsored by the Kosciusko County and Hamilton County sheriff's departments.
