Chinworth Apartment Hit By FireAt least one person was displaced after an apartment fire Monday.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was called out at about 11:42 a.m. Monday to a fire at 520 Chinworth Court, Apt. B, Warsaw. The apartment was occupied by Dontaye Cain, 26.
Kosciusko County online property records indicate the property is owned by CM Long LLC, West CR 800S, South Whitley.
Fire Territory Public Information Officer Max Kinsey said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but it started on the first floor in the kitchen area.
Estimated damage to the apartment complex was $182,000.
Cain was displaced, but Kinsey said he was not sure if the occupants in the other three apartments in the building were.
The American Red Cross and Winona Lake Fire Department assisted.
