Chimney Fire Between Warsaw and Claypool

A chimney fire occurred at 8:50 p.m. Monday at a home owned by Gordon Vanator at 44945 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, near Claypool. The home serves as Vanator’s office for Vana Dell Farms Inc. An employee who works for Vanator was inside the home at the time of the fire and called Claypool Fire Department for assistance, according to Bob Hanes, Claypool fire chief. The cause of the fire was attributed to a build up of byproducts in the chimney, Hanes said. Estimated damage is less than $1,000. Claypool and Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory responded.
