Chili Chefs Needed For This Weekend's First Friday

Chili chefs are needed for this weekend’s First Friday.

The third annual “Hot Chili Nights” First Friday is Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Warsaw.

The contest is open to all restaurants, private individuals and groups, according to Paula Bowman, First Friday coordinator.

People who are interested in competing as a chili chef can get an application at the Warsaw Community Development Corp. website at warsawcdc.org or call Bowman at 574-376-0233.

Chili chefs are asked to provide six to 10 gallons of chili, a way to keep it warm, a table, serving utensils and a list of ingredients.

There will be three categories that will be judged, including beef chili, non-beef chili and vegetarian chili with no meat products.

Judging will be a penny a vote for People’s and Judge’s choice.

Wrist bands and spoons for sampling will be available for $2 at the information booth.
