Chick, Chick Here

Posted

Spring has sprung in Amy Swihart’s first-grade classroom at Madison Elementary. On April 20, the children placed chicken eggs in the classroom incubator. It takes chicks approximately 21 days until they are ready to hatch. On day 21, the cracking began, and the children did witness several eggs hatching. Unfortunately, the chicks could not remain in the classroom forever, much to the dismay of the first-graders. They went to Swihart’s barn. Pictured is Paige holding “Little Blackie.”
