Chase Leads To Arrest

Posted
An attempted early morning traffic stop resulted in a chase today.
Central dispatch received a call at 12:03 a.m. regarding a possibly impaired driver in a black Nissan, heading west on Center Street in Warsaw.
Warsaw police attempted a stop at Scott Street, but the driver, Christopher Douglas Skaggs, 35, 508 Center St., kept driving. Skaggs ran stop lights and stop signs and almost hit several parked cars according to police.
Police followed the Nissan as it turned north onto Miami Street, then turned into the alley, stopping at 508 W. Center Street.
Skaggs was combative with officers, refusing commands, according to a police report. As he attempted to walk up  to the rear of the residence, police reportedly used a stun gun to subdue him.
He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood alcohol test, then booked into Kosciusko County Jail, charged with resisting/fleeing  law enforcement and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
No bond amount was listed as of this morning.
