Chase Ends In CrashA Rochester man could be arrested today after leading police on a late-night chase Monday.
Lynn KC Sines, 20, of Elizabeth Street, Rochester, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries after he crashed into a pole on the west side of CR 350S near Warsaw around midnight.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Clark was eastbound on Ind. 14 just west of Ind. 13 around 10:15 p.m. Monday when he recorded a car driving 74 mph in a 55-mph area.
Clark turned on his emergency lights and attempted to stop the car. Sines reportedly refused to stop and tuned north on CR 400E, and continued to drive.
Clark lost sight of the car, which had a non-functioning right rear tail light, near CR 1000S.
Clark turned off his emergency lights and turned east on CR 900N, when he saw a car coming toward him that seemed to be speeding. Clark realized it was the same car then turned around again, activated his emergency lights and followed the vehicle.
When Clark turned the lights on again, the car sped up and refused to stop.
Sines reportedly continued to Claypool, where Town Marshal Lou Mediano took over as the lead car in the chase.
From Claypool, the chase continued to Ind. 15 and continued north until Sines allegedly turned onto CR 350S, where Warsaw Police Officer Brandon Zartman set up stop sticks. Sines reportedly tried to avoid the stop sticks and crashed into a pole on the west side of CR 350S, causing his vehicle to land on its side.
Sines was taken to KCH for treatment of minor injuries and for a legal blood draw.
When Sines is released from the hospital, which is expected to be today, he will be arrested for resisting/fleeing law enforcement and driving while intoxicated.
