NAPPANEE – Charlotte E. Michael, 93, of Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare, Milford, and formerly of Nappanee, died at 6:10 p.m. July 19, 2011.
She was born Feb.11, 1918, in Elkhart County, to Jesse and Viola Stouder Frederick. On Feb. 16, 1946, in Elkhart, she married Paul Michael, who died Oct. 21, 1999.
A lifetime area resident, she was a 1936 graduate of New Paris High School. She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was a member of Nappanee United Methodist Church and attended New Paris Church of the Brethren. She sang in the church choir and she also sang and traveled with a sextet group.
Surviving are two sons, Fred Michael, Milford, and Jay (and spouse Pam) Michael, Elkhart; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Stan Godrey officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
