MENTONE – Charles W. Butler, 93, Yellow Creek Lake, Claypool, died at 9:58 p.m. June 3, 2015, at his daughter’s residence.
He was born Nov. 23, 1921, in Clinton County, to Horace E. and Ruth “Fairy” Harman Butler. On Nov. 23, 1942, in Kokomo, he married Mary E. Bruce, who preceded him in death June 13, 2011.
He was a crane operator for over 28 years for Continental Steel of Kokomo. He was a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge, North Manchester, where he was a lifetime member. He loved fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (and spouse David) Meredith, Akron; a son, Bruce (and spouse Carolyn) Butler, Sedalia; seven grandchildren: Lynn Hornyak, Charles (and spouse Amy) Hornyak, George (and spouse Tina) Butler, Tina Pallotte, Brandy (and  spouse Jamie) Owens, Wendy Meredith and Kelly (and spouse Drew) Krause; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Betty Timmons, Judy Brown and Phyllis Smith. He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Butler; a daughter-in-law, Janet Butler; two brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with the Rev. Lynn Breeden officiating. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
