Charles R. Fawley passed away peacefully at his home in Warsaw on Aug. 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving children.
He was born on June 3, 1938, in Warsaw. Charles led a quiet life focused on fulfilling the needs of his family and others.
Charles spent most of his career at R.R. Donnelley and Sons as a press operator. Outside of work, Charles was known for his deep love for his family and cherished moments spent together. He had a particular fondness for fireworks and cookouts with family and friends creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
In addition, Charles served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 49 and the Warsaw Moose Lodge. He found joy in activities such as golfing, fishing, playing euchre and drinking coffee with the guys at the marina.
Charles was always known for his selfless nature, putting others before himself without hesitation. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles rarely knew a stranger and made friends with most anyone.
He is survived by daughter, Jennifer "Jennie" Fawley; son, Robert "Bob" Fawley; grandchildren, Charles and Stephen; great-grandson, Lincoln; sister, Donna Wiles; and half sister, Twylla Tolley.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Norma (Ellis) Fawley, to whom he was married on Sept. 22, 1957.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, from 10 a.m. to noon with a funeral service to follow, beginning at noon. Pastor Rob Sewald will officiate the funeral with burial to follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
