Charles Lindberg SpillmanCharles Lindberg Spillman, 94, Leesburg, died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, at Paddock Springs Assisted Living Facility in Warsaw.
He was born July 4, 1927, in Indianapolis, to Iva P. Nichols Spillman and Leslie H. Spillman. Charles married Cassie R. Spillman on Oct. 8, 1949; she died in 1986. On April 25, 1987, he married Sandra Jane Woodburn Spillman, who survives.
Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served until his honorable discharge as a seaman first class on Aug. 18, 1946.
Charles’ life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Dennis Judy. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion and active duty Navy Honor Guard.
