Charles Larry Thomas, 74, Warsaw, passed away peacefully at 12:45 a.m. Oct. 10, 2015, from a lengthy illness at Center for Hospice Care of South Bend. He was born March 1, 1941, in Portland, Ind., to Frank A. Jr. and Betty Irene Boxell Thomas. He was a graduate of Niles High School, the class of 1958. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for four years where he was a member of the Church of Christ, Warsaw. During his long career in car sales, he was awarded 'Salesman of the Year' at Gates Chevy World in South Bend. He was an avid fisherman, and loved anything sports related, but his favorite spectator sport was football. He especially loved the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts, and his favorite baseball team was the Chicago Cubs. Surviving are three sons: Michael Thomas (and fiancée Sally), Prospect, Conn.; Scott (and spouse Karen) Thomas, Pittsburg, Pa.; Troy Thomas, Braddock, Pa.; three daughters: Kim (and spouse Richard) McHale, Dunmore, Pa.; Lori (and spouse Michael) Budash, Whitefield, N.H.; Chandra Thomas (and fiancé Allen), Niles, Mich.; seven grandchildren: Dereck, Megan, Lucas, Jordan, Ka’lee, Phoenix, and Skylar; two great-grandchildren, Jasper and Cassidy; one niece, Tanya (and spouse Jamie) Spade; and one sister, Carol Thomas Hennessy, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joshua Thomas; and his nephew, Timothy Ulrich. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Burial will follow with a graveside service at the New Oak Hill Cemetery of Plymouth.
