PIERCETON – Charles “Gene” Bryant, 89, of Pierceton, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 22, 2012, at 8:45 a.m. at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Pierceton, to Charles Reed and Sarah Byerly Bryant. On May 12, 1946, in Warsaw, he married Miriam Annette Locke, who survives in Pierceton. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County where he worked as a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw, and he attended Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. As a life-long farmer, he learned well the principle of sewing and reaping and applied it to his life in the best of ways. He will be remembered for his perseverance, his hard work, his love and devotion to his family, his modest way, his simple faith, and generosity to family, friends and ministries across the globe. He will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Sharon (and spouse Art) Obregon, Pierceton; Rebecca (and spouse Ron) Ogden, Winona Lake; Diane (and spouse Ryan) Piper, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and his brother, Sherman (and spouse Colleen) Bryant, North Webster. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Max Wayne Bryant, North Webster. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Miller officiating assisted by Pastor Jack Worth. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
