Charles “Chas” Ray Creekmore, 66, Pierceton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born May 3, 1948, in Warsaw, to Albert and Scenie Bays Creekmore, and lovingly raised by Albert and Judy Creekmore. On Dec. 16, 1972, he married Janet Ellen Michalski, who survives in Pierceton. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1966 graduate of Pierceton High School. In 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He worked as a residential contractor until his passing. He was an accomplished musician, enjoyed electronics and physics, but most of all he enjoyed his family and close friends. He also is survived by his two sons: Brian (and spouse Amy) Kintigh, Warsaw, and Wes (and spouse Crystal) Creekmore, Pierceton; a daughter, Randi (and spouse Clive) Craigen, Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren: Claire, Emma, Zeb, Trinity, Ty and Lindsay; a brother, Elmon (and spouse Charlotte) Bays, Silver Lake; and his sister, Carol Smith, Pierceton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and his brother-in-law. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #258 of Pierceton and active duty Air Force honor guard.
