NORTH MANCHESTER – Charles “Butch” Jayne Jr., 61, Warsaw, and formerly of Silver Lake, died at 11:32 a.m. May 31, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Warsaw, to Charlie Sr. and Josephine Richardson Jayne.
He was a mechanic at Clarkshaw Ford, North Carolina, and Kerlin Ford Motor Co., Silver Lake. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He attended Silver Lake and Warsaw Community Schools.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. (and spouse Diana) Jayne, Disputanta, Va.; two daughters, Bernice Renee Parks, Monroe, N.C., and Christina Marie Jayne, Bladenboro, N.C.; his mother, Josephine Jayne, North Manchester: three brothers: William David (and spouse Renee) Jayne, North Manchester; Paul Raymond (and spouse Dawn) Jayne, Silver Lake; and Steven Eddie Jayne, Deetsville, Ala.; six sisters: Charlotte Sue (and spouse Lester) Spangle, Silver Lake; Patricia Carol Irelan, Linda Kay (and spouse Fred) Kling, Betty Ann Smith and Jo (and spouse Scott) Leffel, all of North Manchester; and Laurie Rose (and spouse Rick) Voss, Columbia City; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
