Reckless homicide and driving while intoxicated causing death charges against a Mentone man have been upgraded to murder charges.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office upgraded the charges against Marc Alan Greene, 41, Mentone, this morning.
Greene allegedly used his Chevy pickup to pin and crush Brad Dean Wetzel, 40, Syracuse, against the front of a car near Dewart Lake Saturday evening.Greene fled the scene and later was arrested by Kosciusko County Sheriff's deputies at his residence.
Wetzel was pronounced dead at Kosciusko Community Hospital Saturday night.
Because the incident is still under investigation, county officials are not releasing any exact details of the case.
Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler completed the autopsy on Wetzel, but is waiting on lab results before naming an official cause of death.
Information collected as well as information from witnesses of the incident provided investigators with probable cause to upgrade the charge to murder.
