Changing Parties

Editor, Times-Union:
Well no one can say that the District 22 State Representative race has not been fun to watch and, at times, join the fun, as I have.
Watching Curt Nisly twist and turn and waiting for his talking heads to spread more hate is almost better than watching the governor from Ohio and Sen. McConnell from Kentucky tell us how much they hate Obamacare – that is everywhere but in Ohio and Kentucky. They like it.
But let's talk about our county and district.
I just saw a letter to the editor tonight that made me do some digging. The writer said that Mayor Plank ran as a Democrat the first time around and lost, then after a total transformation, ridding his soul of evil Democratic policies, ran as a Republican and won.
How could this happen?  Democrats can't run anything, they can't lead, no way this will ever happen again in Warsaw.
Fast forward a few years.  Cindy Dobbins is a very popular business woman, well liked, smart, and does a good job in her elected Republican position for the city of Warsaw.
Before I get to the good part I will give the light-hearted, sick, weak, low information voters a chance to sit down and grab some water. Hang on here we go.
Just a few short years ago, Cindy Dobbins was so involved in the Democratic party that she was elected by the Democrats to be the vice-chairwoman of the party in Kosciusko County.
How could this happen again? I'm not sure. I wish we could ask President Reagan.
