WINONA LAKE — Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting for Good Farm Dog Treats at the Winona Lake Farmers Market Saturday.
Brooks and Mikie Stogsdill co-own the business as a husband-and-wife team.
"We just love dogs, and that's why we're in business," said Brooks.
Good Farm Dog Treats is a locally owned business based out of Warsaw. The business grows some of the all-natural and organic ingredients used to sell its products. Their number-one sellers are the peanut butter cravers.
"It's a three-ingredient treat with no preservatives or added fillers," said Mikie.
The business also sells dog food, treats for dogs of all sizes and all-natural dog grooming sprays, shampoos and balms. Good Farm Dog Treats offers the Jar Club, a monthly program in which participants receive a cut glass jar from Warsaw Cut Glass, as well as mystery treats with their monthly orders and a free birthday pup cake for their dog's birthday or adoption day.
The business has been operating officially for two years, but started unofficially 10 years ago when the Stogsdills wanted to start feeding their own dogs healthy, nutritious dog food and "kick the kibble."
The Stogsdills say they want to "provide good nutrition and extend the longevity of your dog's lifespan."
Good Farm Dog Treats also partners with local dog rescues to sell their dog treats as fundraisers for nonprofits and local animal shelters.
To buy Good Farm Dog Treats, go to one of their local retail partners, including Warsaw Health Foods or Lake City Animal Clinic in Warsaw, The Polka Dot Tail or Blue Barn Berry Farm in Syracuse, Miller's Orchard in Nappanee or Owen's Fresh Meat Market in Leesburg. The products are also sold at the Winona Lake Farmer's Market and online at goodfarmdogtreats.com.
