Bruce Shaffner and Carol Lyn Jansen were named Man and Woman of the Year at the 94th Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce annual dinner Thursday.
Bruce, along with his brother Steve, owns the Ramada Inn Plaza. The complex includes the hotel, 2517 Restaurant and the Wagon Wheel Theatre.
Shaffner has had a long history of providing the county with fine dining and hotel accommodations. Shaffner's nomination noted that Wagon Wheel Theatre productions rival those of any big city.
Carol Lyn Jansen is business manager of Jansen Orthopaedic Clinic. She is a Warsaw Community Schools volunteer and serves several nonprofit organizations.
Jansen, along with her husband Dean, support the Lake City Greenway. The couple has three children, Erika, A.J. and Nic.
The Man and Woman of the Year awards have been presented since 1959. They are sponsored by the Times-Union and radio station WRSW.
The chamber event was held at the Warsaw Community Church at County Farm Road and CR 200S.
Outgoing Chamber chairman Max Courtney introduced officers for 2006: Pamela Hester, chairwoman; Kevin Scott, treasurer and Lowell Owens, chairman elect. Joining the board of directors are Nancy Amundgaard, Jack Moore, Becky Plummer and Larry Tipton.
