The Workforce Development Committee of the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce will host a career expo Wednesday at the Lakeview Middle School in Warsaw.
The expo will involve more than 1,300 seventh- and eighth-graders from all the school systems in the county. There will be hands-on displays featuring more than 41 different careers found in Kosciusko counties with 37 participating local businesses. The Kosciusko Career Expo is underwritten by Teachers Credit Union.
This is an annual event that was developed by the Workforce Development Committee of the Chamber to expose middle school students to careers that are available in Kosciusko County. It is intended to aid in preparation for each student's four-year education plan through graduation, to help them decide what classes to schedule for their high school careers.
The idea is to motivate each student to choose careers, after graduating, to stay in Kosciusko County. Whether they choose to attend college or a technical school, or not further their education, there are many career opportunities in this county.
