Chain O' Lakes Chorus Performs Friday

NORTH WEBSTER - The Chain O' Lakes Chorus will present a patriotic concert at Webster Park Friday at 7 p.m. as part of the North Webster Music in the Park programs.

The chorus is composed of male singers in four voice (tenor, lead, baritone, bass) harmony singing acapella.

The Chain O' Lakes chapter is affiliated with the International Barbershop Harmony Society.

Drawing singers from the surrounding area, the group meets weekly on Tuesday nights in Columbia City from 7 to 9 p.m. at Faith Christian Church, 1550 E. Ind. 205.

Warsaw members include Jerry Frush, John Armacost, Warren Tatter, Roy Gant, Mike Lewis, Loran Sims, Dan King, William Landrigan and Dr. David Haines.

Barbershop Harmony Society has more than 600 chapters with about 30,000 members.

As part of its heritage, the local chapter has several members singing in quartets with their own unique names including: The Chain Gang, Old Spice and Four O'clock Shadow.

Other performances in the near future include singing in Columbia City around the square Saturday; Singing at the South Whitley Festivals Sept. 19; The Right to Life Banquet at Orthopedic Capital Center Sept. 28; and singing with the Grace College Choir Oct. 23 at Rodeheaver Auditorium.

The Chorus is directed by Dick Sutton, North Webster.
