Cerulean Indianapolis Named Top 10 New Restaurant

INDIANAPOLIS – Cerulean Indianapolis has received national recognition.
GAYOT.com, the international guide to dining, hotels, travel and lifestyle, has just published its Annual Restaurant Issue, which includes the highly-anticipated Top 40 Restaurants in the U.S. list.
Cerulean Indianapolis was named a 2013 Top 10 New Restaurant in the U.S. The restaurant is co-owned by Caleb France, co-owner of Cerulean in Winona Lake.
In a telephone interview Wednesday afternoon, France said what Cerulean is trying to do is rebrand what it means to fine dine and eat. Proud of coming from Indiana, he said, with this recognition more people nationally can see what great places Indiana has to offer in the way of restaurants.
France said GAYOT.com reviewers had stopped in a few times to review the meals and ask for pictures. It wasn’t until last week, he said, that Cerulean was told it had made the list for top 10 restaurants for 2013.
This is the first time Cerulean has received recognition at the national level, France said.
The Indianapolis restaurant is located at Delaware and South streets. More information on the restaurant can be found online at www.ceruleanrestaurant.com
Of the Top 40 Restaurants in the U.S. selected, nine of them did not appear on last year’s list, and three of those, The Mansion Restaurant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Michael Mina and The Willows Inn, are gracing the list for the very first time.
Six that made Top 40 lists in earlier years are making a comeback: Bacchanalia, Bouley, CityZen, Corton, Georgian Room and The Restaurant at Meadowood. That means that nine from last year’s list did not make the cut: Cyrus, The Herbfarm, L’Espalier, Masa’s, Michel Richard Citronelle, Patina, Restaurant Eugene, TRU and Twist by Pierre Gagnaire.
Other lists by these restaurant critics include:
Top 10 New Restaurants in the U.S. – great places that opened recently.
Top 10 Steakhouses in the U.S. – where to meet for meat.
Top 10 Romantic Restaurants in the U.S. – don’t we all love romance?
5 Rising Chefs – American chefs 30 and under who are making their mark.
And new this year Hot 40 Restaurants in the U.S. – reveals the most buzz-worthy restaurants around the country.
Discover the restaurants that have earned awards by viewing either an exclusive video interview with the chef or a photo gallery that includes pictures of the chef, the restaurant and the food. The 2013 Restaurant Issue of GAYOT.com also includes an examination of the major Culinary Trends for 2013.
GAYOT.com’s review of Cerulean states the Indianapolis restaurant “may be the new kid on the block, but it has quickly distinguished itself by offering exciting, inventive flavors, perhaps with a touch of molecular gastronomy. Chef Caleb France earned his reputation at his Winona Lake restaurant, and he continues to demonstrate his skills at this spot with a huge ‘bird nest’ in the center of the dining room for guests seeking additional privacy.”
It later states “you’ll want to devour one dish after the next.”
The GAYOT.com Annual Restaurant Issue iPhone app is now available on the App Store.
