WINONA LAKE – Cerulean will host a brunch Saturday with all proceeds going to support Warsaw Community High School athletics. The buffet brunch, with a “modern take on Midwestern breakfast,” will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests are $20 each ($10 for children under 12) and are walk-in only, no reservations. Owner Caleb France said WCHS athletics approached him about the fundraiser because they don’t have the budget for equipment and other needs. This is his first time hosting an event for Warsaw athletics. “We were excited at the chance to help young athletes and build talent here in the area as well as empower them to succeed,” he said Tuesday by email. The buffet of local proteins and produce will be offered instead of the usual bento box lunch. On the menu are such offerings as salted quinoa granola, sour cherry compote, french toast, chicken sausage, chicken fried steak, mascarpone, dill fromage blanc and smoked salmon pockets. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are included. “We will also be doing some fun brunch cocktails at the bar including a beermosa and Cerulean Bloody Mary,” France said.
