Amid the new Christmas display in Central Park, there two new holiday events are scheduled this weekend at the adjoining pavilion in Warsaw.
Center Lake Pavilion will host a musical event on Friday night. And on Saturday, the city will host a Children's Winter Carnival. Both events are free, but the park will accepted canned donations for Combined Community Services.
Both events are new and were proposed by activities director Andy McCleary, who assumed duties in September.
"I'd like to start every year doing something musical down here" for Christmas, McCleary said.
The Friday night concert starts at 7 p.m. and features the local "Brass Wind."
The carnival runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and will include a puppet show, a sing-a-long, and arts and crafts. Warsaw Community Public Library will host a reading event. Santa is slated to make an appearance.
McDonald's is a sponsor for the carnival.
