With the Fourth of July in less than two weeks, fireworks and events have been scheduled throughout the area.
Akron
At Lake City Bank, sponsored by Akron Les Donas, there will be a Penny-A-Vote Cute Baby Contest through June 27.
On June 27 from 9 to 11 a.m., there will be Young Entrepreneur Day at Lake City Bank.
On June 28, at Akron Elementary School, the Penny-A-Vote Cute Baby Contest winner will be announced at 5:15 p.m. The event is sponsored by Akron Les Donas. At 5:30 p.m., the Miss Sparkler, Mr. Firecracker and Queen contests will be held. From 5 to 7 p.m., the Akron Parent Support Group will have an Igloo Ice Cream Social. At 7 p.m., the quilt raffle winner is announced.
On July 4, there will be the Fireman Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Henry Township Fire Station. It is sponsored by the Henry Township Volunteer Fire Department. At 9 a.m., there will be a flag-raising by the American Legion Honor Guard. At 10 a.m., the eagle carving raffle winner will be announced.
On July 4 at Akron Elementary School, the Firecracker 5K even registration will be at Akron Elementary School. The 5K walk will begin at 8 a.m. The 1-mile Fun Run will start at 8:15 and the 5K run will start at 8:30 a.m.
On Rochester and Mishawaka streets, the parade will start at 11 a.m., with lineup beginning at 9 a.m.
There will be a three-on-three basketball tournament at 9 a.m. July 9 at Pike Memorial Park with an entry fee of $50 per team. There will be a co-ed volleyball tournament at 9 a.m. with the entry fee of $120 per team. From noon to 10 p.m., there will be food and retail vendors. From 1 to 9 p.m., there will be free kid inflatables and laser tag. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a petting zoo and pig races. From 1 to 4 p.m., there will be the Jim Bucher Memorial Car Show. The entry fee is $20 and the awards will be announced at 3:30 p.m. From 7 to 9 p.m., there will be free kids games. From 7 to 10 p.m. the band Ain’t Right will perform.
At 10 p.m. July 4, fireworks will be set off, which are sponsored by the Henry Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Barbee Lakes
The Barbee Lakes fireworks show will be July 4 at 10:15 p.m.
Chapman Lake
Chapman Lake’s Fourth of July celebration in Warsaw will offer a multigenerational community-funded fireworks show, a pancake breakfast and a parade. Cost of the breakfast is $12 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under. All other events are free. The America 250 directory listing for 2026 confirms the American Spirit parade at 6 p.m. on July 3, the pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on July 4 and the Chapman Lake fireworks at 10 p.m. over the lake.
Etna Green
The July 4 parade will start at 11 a.m., with lineup beginning at 10 a.m. at the Etna Township Fire Station, 132 W. Broadway St., Etna Green.
At about 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Park, there will be food and craft vendors, a cornhole tournament and games.
There will be fireworks at Heritage Park beginning at 10 p.m.
Lake Tippecanoe
The Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners 2026 Annual Flotilla will be 1 to 3 p.m. July 4 at Patona Bay Marina and Resort, 2 EMS T33B Lane, Leesburg.
The fireworks over Tippecanoe Lake will start at 10:30 p.m. July 4.
Lake Wawasee
The Lake Wawasee fireworks on July 4 will start at 10:15 p.m.
North Manchester
Fireworks will be Manchester High School at 10 p.m. July 4. The rain date is July 5.
Syracuse
The Syracuse fireworks over Syracuse Lake will be July 3.
Webster Lake
Fireworks over Webster Lake will be staged from the west end of Kline Island and will start at 10 p.m. July 3.
Winona Lake/Warsaw
The Firecracker 5K starts at 9 a.m. July 3. The Symphony of the Lakes is 8 p.m. July 3. Fireworks are 10 p.m. July 3. The Flotilla at Winona Lake is at 8 p.m. July 4.
