LEESBURG – Cecil H. Paulus, 86, Leesburg, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 2, 2016, at his home. He was born April 25, 1930, in Pierceton, to Cecil H. and Rachel Ann Friend Paulus. On Dec. 15, 1951, in North Webster, he married Doris J. Gaff, who survives in Leesburg. He grew up in Columbia City and graduated in 1948 from Columbia City High School. He was a United States Navy veteran and lived most of his life in the North Webster and Leesburg area. He was the owner and operator of Paulus Plastics and former owner and operator of Paulus Well Drilling, North Webster, for 60 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 253, North Webster; VFW Post 985, Goshen; and attended the United Methodist Church, North Webster. Also surviving are a daughter, Monna (and spouse Rick) Baum, Warsaw; two sons, Chris (and spouse Anna) Paulus, Leesburg, and Ken (and spouse Ellen) Paulus, Leawood, Kan.; 10 grandchildren: Kristin (and spouse Luke) Balcerzak; Kelly (and spouse Ryan) Neimier; Katie (Jason Conley) Paulus; Jessica, Kate, Trevor, Tommy and Wade Paulus; and Abbi and Jeremy Baum; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Brooks and Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Paulus; a sister, Betty Minnick; and a brother, Eugene Paulus. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Kent Butcher, Vineyard Community Church, and Pastor Brad Cox, Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery with military graveside rites by North Webster American Legion.
