Your daughter’s Barbies buried in a box with Ken and all their clothes? Your son’s Matchbox cars rolled under the bed with the dust bunnies? Or maybe their stuffed toys are stuffed in the closet?
Get rid of those good-quality used toys and make some money for yourself and Combined Community Services in the process during the 2019 annual Toy Time. Toys are needed to help provide a Christmas for boys and girls who otherwise might not have one.
Used good-quality toys can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 2-5 at the Home & Family Arts building at the Kosciusko County fairgrounds. Volunteers will then price and package them and put them in a sale.
The huge toy sale will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 7 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 8. It is open to the public.
Of your items that are sold, you receive 50%. The other 50% will be used to buy new toys for the toy giveaway. Toys that don’t sell will be “rehomed” as Christmas gifts.
CCS does a two-day toy giveaway for parents of about 1,500 children. Also given out are Bibles, warmth items and any other help that can be provided.
The toy giveaway is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 17 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 18.
