Clean out your children’s toy box and help parents who are struggling to buy Christmas toys during the 21st annual Combined Community Services Toy Time. Bring good-quality used toys to the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds Dec. 1 to 4 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the toy consignment sale. Volunteers will do the pricing and halfof the sale price will go to consignors. The public toy sale will be Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Consignors shop early on Dec. 5. “It’s an over-100-family garage sale, only with children’s items,” said organizer Ami Pitt. She said they will take anything to do with children except clothing. “We do toys, furniture, movies, books – ‘anything’ means anything.” With its half of the proceeds, CCS will buy new toys and give them away at the CCS Toy Give Away Dec. 16 and 17. “We service right at 1,800 children, that’s 500-plus families,” Pitt stated. “It’s a great way to clean out the toy box, help families and make money for yourself. It all goes to the CCS Toy Give Away.” Monetary donations can be made to CCS, earmarked as Toy Time. “We take donations of new toys as well,” Pitt said. At the giveaway, organizers also will have the opportunity to share about Jesus and give the family a Bible. Donations of Bibles are welcomed, Pitt said.
