Nearly 500 students in Kosciusko County will experience Christmas in July.
Combined Community Services is requesting donations to provide school supplies for students of low-income families.
"It's an annual thing that they (Combined Community Services) do," volunteer Ami Pitt said. "Last year we had 480-some children that received school supplies."
Pitt said monetary donations also are being accepted as well as school supplies.
The school supply wish list for this year includes: Elmer's school glue (4-ounce bottle), rubber cement, folders with pockets, school box, Fiskar scissors (not plastic), crayons (box of 24), No. 2 pencils, box of colored pencils, large soft rubber eraser, pens (black or blue - no red), box of washable markers, rulers (English and metric), protractor and compass, waterproof school bag and notebook or notebook paper (wide rule, no spiral).
Pitt said supplies are needed for approximately 500 children. She said this year's estimate is based on last year's number.
Pitt asks those who donate to "please specify" on the envelope whether the donation is monetary or school supplies.
Donations can be sent to CCS, 110 E. Prairie St., Warsaw, or simply dropped off at the office (same location).
"We need to receive everything on or before Aug. 11," Pitt said.
Pitt and CCS would like to deliver Christmas in July to students who need a little extra help. To do this, they need to receive and distribute donations to students before school starts Aug. 22.
"It's going to be here before we know it," Pitt said.
