Four women were recognized Tuesday by Combined Community Services for making a positive impact in the lives of children.
"Excellence in Care" award recipients were Rachel Mosco, an at-home child care provider; Karen Roberts, an at-home child care provider; Diane Nail, New Beginnings; and Meryln Michele Elrod, Elrod Daycare.
Elrod was recognized for being a second generation child care provider who was willing to take care of children on breathing machines and heart monitors. Mosco was also recognized for being a second generation child care provider.
Nail was honored for providing leadership to younger employees and being involved with children for more than 10 years with a positive attitude. For more than 20 years, Roberts has provided child care, and was recognized for that service.
CCS sponsored the second annual dinner and awards at 2517 Restaurant. Congressman Tim Roemer's deputy district director Michelle Boxell helped present the awards.
