Combined Community Services Executive Director Lewis Jones has resigned after three years.
Jones told the Times-Union Saturday he submitted his letter of resignation to the CCS board of directors last Monday.
The board met Tuesday night and accepted his resignation. Jones' last day as executive director was Tuesday.Lewis said his decision to resign was due to his interest in wanting to follow a new path and get back into fundraising.
Jones marked his third anniversary with CCS in September. He was hired in 2007 as director, replacing Laura Kaufman.
"I will serve where God leads me, and I wish CCS the best and know they will continue to do great work," Jones said. "CCS is a wonderful and special place that I will keep in my heart."
Jones said he will miss the CCS staff and clients the most, and said the community has been supportive of CCS over the years. He hopes they will continue to support CCS and its mission.
Jones said CCS is stable and currently serves 14 percent of Kosciusko County, accounting for more than 11,000 people.
Peggi Lisenbee-Wright told the Times-Union that she will serve as acting director.
She also said she has been employed with CCS for more than 10 years, and has served as director of client services.
She was hired as intake coordinator, a position she filled for 4-1/2 years. She worked briefly as a case manager in project independence before accepting the position as director of client services in November 2005.
She is married to Ron Wright, who is employed at Medtronic, and has two daughters, Alexis Lisenbee, a student at Grace College, and Lacey Lisenbee, an eighth-grader at Lakeview Middle School.
Lisenbee-Wright's family attend Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
"CCS is led by a forward-moving and involved board of directors and a dedicated and experienced staff," Lisenbee-Wright said. "We are based on following God's will in serving people in need."
She said she feels privileged to have a part in leading CCS as it continues to serve its neighbors in Kosciusko County.
Lisenbee-Wright said a time frame has not yet been established to replace Jones.
