Caucus Tonight to Fill County Seat

Posted
The Kosciusko County Council will have a new member after tonight.

Jon Garber, George Klinger and Kelly Prater will be given three minutes to make a presentation on their own behalf in front of county precinct committeemen at the Munson Building, 212 N. Lake St., Warsaw, starting at 7 p.m.

Garber is the former Warsaw parks superintendent and is a former precinct committeeman for Warsaw District 2-1.

He’s also served as a delegate for the county to the Republican state convention several times.

He lives in Claypool.

Klinger, Warsaw, is currently self-employed and owns 350 acres of farmland in the county.

He previously served on the Kosciusko County Council for eight years.

Prater, Claypool, is a sergeant in the Kosciusko County Jail Division.

He ran against Kinsey in the May 2010 Republican primary.

The winner of tonight’s caucus will serve the remainder of Kinsey’s term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2014.

Next week, six Republicans and two Democrats will vie for spots in November’s general election for the chance at three open at-large council spots.

Republican incumbents Tom Anglin, Bob Sanders and Larry Teghtmeyer will face off against challengers Sean Boylan, Robert J. Beer and Jon Fussle.

On the Democratic side, Josh Bartman and Lee Ann Brown are running.
