BOURBON – Despite the chilly temperatures outside, Whitko’s offense certainly got hot Monday afternoon.
In a high school baseball game at Triton High School, the Wildcats pounded out 10 hits and cruised to a 12-1 win over the Trojans in five innings.
Whitko scored six runs in the top of the first inning, added another in the fourth, and then scored five in the fifth inning.
Triton scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Trojans had just one hit in the loss and committed eight errors.
River West was the winning pitcher for Whitko, giving up one run and one hit while striking out five and walking none in four innings of work.
Riley Anderson was 3 for 4 at the plate for the Wildcats, while Tanner Gaff and Landen Goff were both 2 for 4. Goff and Drew Bradford both hit a double in the win.
