Catherine Virginia Ours Evans, 97, of Gallatin, Tenn., passed away Jan. 28, 2013. She was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Hardy County, W.Va., to Alston Clyde and Sarah Elizabeth Judy Ours. She married Quentin Evans, who preceded her in death. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gallatin, Tenn., and First United Methodist Church, Claypool. She was a member of Colonial Dames XXVII Century, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Union Veterans, Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Colonists. Surviving are a son, Robert Evans, Gallatin; a sister, Nellie Mae Ours Leatherman, Old Fields, W.Va.; a brother, George J. Ours, Moorefield, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Richard T. Evans and Danielle (and spouse Jeff) Smith, all of Gallatin, and Christine (and spouse Joe) Shurannah, Huntsville, Ala.; and five great-grandchildren, Michael and Anna Shurannah and Reid, Ethan and Catherine Smith. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alston Clyde Ours Jr. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Mike Settles.
